About the tour
What you're signing up for
This one's for guests who don't want to drive themselves. Land Rover pickup at your hotel or a meeting point that suits, then up into the Sintra hills. You get free time in Sintra village, binoculars for the views, and a guide who knows the shortcuts.
Half-day covers Sintra Hills and free time in the village. Full-day extends the route towards the coast — Cabo da Roca, hidden viewpoints, and optionally a stop at Pena Palace or Quinta da Regaleira (extra entry ticket).
Groups from 4 people. Ideal for corporate off-sites, family visits, and anyone who wants to see Sintra without walking the whole thing. Alcohol is welcome on this tour — you're not driving.
Why a Jeep, and why from Cascais
Most Sintra tours are coach transfers from Lisbon — 40-seat buses that stick to the main palace car parks and give you 40 minutes at each. A Land Rover gets you into the fire-road viewpoints and quieter parts of the natural park those buses can't reach: Peninha up on the ridge, the miradouros above the Sintra-Cascais road, the hidden lookouts over Cabo da Roca. Our groups are 4–8 people, so the guide can actually stop where you want and skip what doesn't grab you.
Starting from Cascais changes the shape of the day. You arrive at Sintra from the coast side, which is the wilder half of the park — most tourists never see it because Lisbon-based buses come in from the east. You're back near your hotel by afternoon instead of stuck in Lisbon rush-hour traffic. If you're staying in Cascais or Estoril it's the obvious choice; if you're in Lisbon we can pick you up too but the coast-side start is the sales pitch.

Meeting point
Hotel pickup, no driving for you
Land Rover pickup at your hotel or at any easy meeting point in Lisbon, Cascais, Estoril or the Sintra area. Tell us where you're staying when you book and we'll confirm the exact pickup time the day before. Full-day tours drop you back at your hotel too.

Before you book
+Why the minimum group of 4?
The Land Rover fits up to 7 comfortably. Below 4 the day doesn't cover its costs (fuel, driver-guide, insurance). If you're a couple or a solo traveller, email us — we sometimes combine smaller parties into one Jeep, or can suggest a private-Jeep price on request.
+Can we add Pena Palace or Quinta da Regaleira?
Yes on the full-day. Both are extra tickets you pay separately (about €14 and €12 respectively as of 2026); we drop you at the entrance and pick you up when you're done. Pena is the postcard palace, Quinta da Regaleira is the one with the initiation well.
+Can we add the wine cellar / tasting?
Yes — we finish the full-day at a family-run wine cellar in the Colares appellation for a tasting flight and light bites. Mention it when you enquire and we'll add it to your itinerary. Popular with corporate groups.
+Do I need to be fit? Is this good for older guests?
No hiking required. You're driven the whole way; the only walking is however much you choose in Sintra village and (if you add them) inside the palaces. This tour is our go-to for parents, grandparents, and anyone who prefers to watch the landscape rather than sweat through it.
+Can kids come along?
Yes, any age. Child seats available on request — tell us the ages when you book and we'll fit the Land Rover accordingly. There's no age restriction because you're a passenger, not a driver.
+How is this different from a bus tour from Lisbon?
Three things: (1) smaller group — 4 to 8 people vs 40 on a coach; (2) off-road access to viewpoints and fire roads the buses can't reach; (3) coast-side start from Cascais means you see the wilder western half of the park most tour buses skip. We're also 30 min from central Lisbon if you'd rather we pick you up there.
+What about lunch on the full-day?
Not included — we stop somewhere you actually want to eat rather than force a set-menu tourist restaurant on you. The guide has favourites in Sintra village and along the coast; tell them what you fancy and they'll sort it. Budget €20–30 per person.
+Do you do corporate groups?
Yes — this is our main corporate half-day format. For groups bigger than one Jeep we split into two or three Land Rovers, all with the same guide-crew and itinerary. Often combined with a quad tour on the coast for the more adventurous half of the team.
